Mathev Aldrimar was the fourth son of Henric Aldrimar, the first by his second wife. Mathev had always been resigned to his fate as a fourth son, but the desire for his father's crown never left him. After his grandnephew's murder in 1289, Mathev was crowned as King of the Zaels. He was succeeded by his son Edwyn Aldrimar after his suicide in 1301.
